Heart of a Dragonfly

Dragonfly in East Asian culture is a representation of feminine energy and the ability to live in the moment. Heart of a dragonfly is the embodiment of living and loving in the present moment.

We create stress in our lives when we crave for what we do not have or cling to that which has gone from our lives. Yet, life is ever changing. The dragonfly reminds us how inpermenant all of life is. There is no guarantees of a tomorrow or what tomorrow will bring. If we look to the future as a possibility, we not only give the future the option to be anything we choose by our creation of it, we also live today to the fullest!!! Giving today and now all the glory it desires. We are happy in our present breath!!!

Yesterday is a memory. All memories have the ability to be altered if we choose. Our memories are given to us based on our awareness, abilities, perceptions and perspectives at that time.

A perspective of a situation has to do with your position within the event. The perception is that which each individual creates the event to mean.

Within the ability to alter a memory, we can begin by imagining the other parts of the event that was not our own perspective or perception. Empathy and understanding the view and position of another. You do not need to agree, only have a realization there are many perspectives. To give you a simple example of how different our perspectives can be, try an experiment in our own space right now. Imagine the only awareness you have ever had of the space you are in right now is ONLY from where you are right now. What do you see? What is the temperature of the space, the breeze? What colors or scenery is before you? Now move to another spot within the same area. Again, imagining this is all you have seen from this space. NOW, what do you see? What are the colors, scenery? Has even the temperature changed a bit? That is only dealing with the physical aspects of one area. Imagine the depth that is involved with a persons perspective in life, emotionally, physically, birth order, etc.

Our own perception comes from our past. Our culture, upbringing, education, social interactions, past experiences all play a part in how we perceive the world around us. How we perceive in our relationships both personal and professional. Imagine the color purple, now orange. We all imagine a slightly different color. This is small example of perception.

Have the courage and insight to forgive yourself and others for any past upsets. The future is unknown. Imagine a life of trust and love. Live fully in the moment!! Living in the present moment, breathing in life, loving the beauty of our bodies to give us so much pleasure and awareness!!! Liven your senses and live each day to the fullest!!!

We have the ability to create our world in every moment. When we realize the power we have to create our own reality, we are living within the heart of the dragonfly!!!

This is the second in a series of three blogs. Each blog gives a brief outline of an aspect of a full day workshop. Please sign up for email updates on classes coming to your area.
